PEST Version 2.94 (and 2.95) Released.

Three great features have been incorporated into this latest version of the PEST, and once again, it's you, the PEST Faithful who continue to make the PEST a better program with your keen insight and fine suggestions. Help picture tags have been added, working just like the picture tags on questions, but allowing graphical explanations after a question has been answered. A great suggestion and a great new feature - thanks, Sidney! Not well-known for my fluency in French, it's a wonderful thing to be able to count on the help of friends like Pierre Vernet, who was kind enough to take the time to provide some better French translations where needed. Finally, Don Stubblefield sent a great suggestion to incorporate a version checker and an auto-update feature. Both these suggestions are now a reality. Now, not only can a simple click check the vellosoft.com website to see if you're running the latest version of the PEST, but the subsequent auto-update feature makes updating the program quick and effortless. To help test this feature, download the full version PEST which is currently at v2.94 (still listed at v2.92 at download.com, but that page will indeed link you to v2.94.) Once installed, go to the main Quiz window and from the "Download" Menu, click "Check for Latest Version" and this should inform you that a new version exists and allow you to begin the auto-update to v2.95. (Version 2.95 is identical except for the splash screen and posted to the website for the purpose of checking this feature.) |
